Fun Fact: Parisa means fairy in Farsi.

"I was drawn to the fact that LAWTF combines both my passion for theatre and women empowerment. I also love the community and atmosphere of the organization, in fact, I am often greeted with hugs! I hope to continue my passion for the arts by pursuing a career (acting, designing, directing) in film and theatre. In doing so, I hope to change the way women are often portrayed and continue to empower women through my art as well as promoting social justice. "

"Working for a women's theatre festival inspired me to work with LAWTF! Assistant directing Titus Andronicus over the summer with the Theatricum Botanicum and preparing to direct my senior project next spring."

Birthday: February 29, 1992

School: California State University Long Beach

Major: Studio Arts

Origin:  Spring Field, Ohio

Fun Fact: A fun fact about me is that I sew and model my own costumes.

"What drew me to LAWTF was their mission. On the LAWTF web page I had read about their involvement with helping different actresses from across the Los Angeles and surrounding areas. I was immediately drawn in by how much great work the women behind LAWTF had done to get where they are today. Some future goals I have set for myself are to finish college then go after a Master’s Degree.  I also plan on getting a job in the gaming industry animating or doing character design for companies such as Riot or Arena Net."

Greetings, friends! We hope you are having a fabulous June and are ready to welcome Summer!

Its a busy (but exciting) time around here at The Los Angeles Womens Theatre Festival. With the
addition of several Summer interns (who you will be meeting right here on the blog as they will be starting a weekly blog series showcasing their LAWTF internship journey), we're all under way as we gear up for our engagement at The Ivy Substation in Culver City on July 10th, and then move into our Empowerment Day on August 27th.

This past Wednesday was our monthly Wine Down Wednesday and what a fabulous evening we had. Huge thank you to our friends at The Marmalade cafe in Sherman Oaks for donating their space as well as tasty appetizers that were enjoyed by our 20+ guests.

With all our interns in attendance, this was a fantastic opportunity for our newest LAWTF family members to learn more about us and meet new friends.

Past LAWTF performer, Barbara Cole, gave a fabulous "share" (Barbara's language for monologue/excerpt) during our soiree and we are so thankful that she did.

We were also thrilled to celebrate with several producers and performers from The Hollywood Fringe Festival, which is currently happening through the month of June.

Happy Wine Wednesday, friends!

Our May 18th Wine Down Wednesday is in the books and what a successful evening it was. We were hosted by Xen Lounge in posh Studio City, California and treated to delicious appetizers, great company, entertainment and, even our most successful yet for raffle ticket purchases!

Our performer was Amy Milano, a LAWTF alum who performed a hilarious excerpt from her solo show, Driving with Crazies. Bravo, Amy!!

As we now head into welcoming Summer, we hope you will join us for our June Wine Down Wednesday happening on June 15th at The Marmalade Cafe in Sherman Oaks! We will have another great evening of complimentary appetizers, performances, raffles and giggles.

Are you ready?! Tomorrow is our monthly Wine Down Wednesday and this month will take us to Studio City's Xen Lounge.

Xen Lounge is the hot spot for all in Hollywood and Los Angeles. Take a peek of some of their clientele, and you will see the likes of Will Smith and Bobby Brown getting their XEN on!

The fun will be kicking off at 6pm. There will be complimentary appetizers, a performance from our very own, Amy Milano, raffle prizes AND new this month: Our first guest to arrive will receive a door prize. So, arrive early!

Wine Down Wednesday Heading to the Xen Lounge!

Greetings!

So, we've been a bit non stop here at LAWTF. Having just wrapped up the 23rd annual festival in Venice Beach, followed by Encore Day of Theatre in West Hollywood, we're now busy bee's here at the office finalizing all the details for our evening in Culver City at The Ivy Substation July 10th, and then heading into our Empowerment Day in South Pasadena, happening August 27th!

With that being said, we could use an evening of some relaxation and wine, no?! Come join us May 18th at the Xen Lounge in Studio City from 6 to 8pm for our successful monthly mixer, Wine Down Wednesday. There will be complimentary appetizers, a performance by LAWTF Alum, Amy Milano, raffle prize drawings and much more. Recap of Encore! A Day of Theatre in West Hollywood!

Greetings!

We are thrilled to say what a SUCCESS our Encore day of FREE theatre generously sponsored by The City of West Hollywood, turned out to be!

Our afternoon began with a writing workshop put on by our own, Terrie Silverman, then, we moved onto a full day of solo performances hosted by LAWTF's Office Manager, Phoebe Holston. Phoebe had the honor of introducing all our artists, including Kim Coles, a brilliant actress you may recall from In Living Color followed by Living Single.
