A Writing and Storytelling Workshop 12pm - 2pm

Whether you're a native or a transplant, this workshop will explore the concept of home, it's impact on identity as well as the courage it takes to be you.
Terrie Silverman is the founder of Creative Rites Workshops & Coaching. She has been teaching writing and performance for fourteen years to groups and individuals to release your inner-critic, access your authentic voice and become a brave, moving storyteller.
Silverman also has a Solo-Show Master Class and has helped develop and direct a number of award-winning solo shows. She loves helping people discover that they have a voice and that their story matters. She's facilitated workshops for the Los Angeles Women's Theatre Festival, California Arts Council, Santa Monica Cultural Affairs Department, The Museum of Contemporary Art, The City of West Hollywood, The West Hollywood Book Festival, Screen Actor's Guild Media Access, the Independent Writer's of Southern Caifornia, LACAMFT- Expressive Arts, UCLArts & Healing, Senior Arts Foundationand Women in Theatre.

As a solo performer, poet and playwright, Silverman's work has been presented at various theatres and arts festivals in Southern California, including The HBO Workspace, KPFK Radio, The World Arts and Cultures Department at UCLA, Beyond Baroque, Los Angeles Theatre Center, Highways, the Azatlan Center for International Women's Day and The Edge of the World Theater Festival.

Silverman's career highlights include working with The Bread and Puppet Theater, as well as dying onstage with Sir Ian McKellan.
She has studied with Hubert Selby Jr., Paul Zindel, Simone Forti,Tim Miller, José Rivera, Noel Riley-Fitch, John Rechy, Karen Finley, Holly Prado, and David L. Ulin.
